In this episode of Legend of Yun Xi, the main character Yun Xi finds herself in a difficult situation. Under pressure from the queen mother to save the emperor's life, Yun Xi enlists the help of a young medicine maker named Gu Qishao. However, getting him on her side proves to be a challenge.

Meanwhile, the prince, who was once betrothed to Yun Xi, is determined to win her affections back. He sets up a romantic dinner for the two of them, but Yun Xi is not interested. She is focused on her mission to save the emperor and will not let anything stand in her way. The prince becomes frustrated with her indifference and storms off.

As Yun Xi and Gu Qishao work together to find the ingredients for the rare medicine, they encounter a group of bandits who attack them. Yun Xi proves her bravery by defending herself and Gu Qishao, and the two of them are able to overcome the bandits. However, their troubles are far from over.

Back at the palace, Yun Xi discovers that the queen mother has been secretly poisoning the emperor in an effort to secure power for herself. Yun Xi must act quickly to save the emperor's life and expose the queen mother's treachery. She devises a plan to switch out the poisoned medicine with a decoy, but the queen mother catches onto her plan and tries to stop it from happening.

In a tense standoff, Yun Xi confronts the queen mother and explains her plan to save the emperor. The queen mother, realizing that her plot has been uncovered, attempts to put a stop to it by force. However, she is no match for Yun Xi's ingenuity and bravery, and the plan succeeds.

The episode ends with Yun Xi and Gu Qishao triumphantly returning to the palace with the rare medicine in hand. The emperor is saved, and Yun Xi's bravery and intelligence have won her accolades from all who witnessed her actions. Despite the prince's attempts to win her back, Yun Xi remains focused on her duties and determined to make a difference in the palace.
