In Lucha Underground season 1 episode 24, titled "Shoots and Ladders," tensions run high as some of the wrestlers jockey for position to climb the ranks and become top contenders for championships. The episode opens with a recap of some previous developments, specifically the fallout from Prince Puma's loss to Johnny Mundo in the ring, and the ongoing feud between Chavo Guerrero Jr. and Blue Demon Jr.
Next up is a match between two of the competitors looking to move up in the ranks, Bengala and Son of Havoc. The two go back and forth with some impressive high-flying moves, but it's ultimately Son of Havoc who comes out on top with a stunning shooting star press.
Following that match, we see more of the tension between Chavo Guerrero Jr. and Blue Demon Jr. Chavo is clearly agitated and confronts Blue Demon Jr. before their scheduled match, accusing him of being behind an attack on Chavo's partner, Hernandez. Blue Demon Jr. denies any involvement, but tensions continue to simmer.
The next match features Ivelisse taking on Angelico in a no disqualification, falls count anywhere match. The two go all out, using chairs, tables, and other weapons to try to gain the upper hand. Despite Ivelisse's impressive resilience, Angelico ultimately secures the win with a diving crossbody off a balcony and through a table.
After that intense match, we move on to another thread in the ongoing feud between Johnny Mundo and Prince Puma. This time, it's Johnny confronting Prince Puma in the locker room, taunting him and goading him into a fight. While Prince Puma initially tries to walk away, he eventually gives in and a brief brawl ensues.
Finally, it's time for the main event - a match between Blue Demon Jr. and Chavo Guerrero Jr. The two rivals waste no time getting right into it, with Chavo using underhanded tactics to gain the upper hand early on. However, Blue Demon Jr. soon turns things around and looks to be on the brink of victory when Chavo's ally, Pentagon Jr., interferes and attacks Blue Demon Jr. This leads to an intense brawl involving multiple wrestlers, which eventually spills out of the ring and into the arena.
Overall, "Shoots and Ladders" delivers plenty of action and drama, setting the stage for even more explosive developments to come in future episodes of Lucha Underground.
