For Immediate Release is the sixth episode of the sixth season of Mad Men. The episode starts with the agency facing its biggest crisis yet, as the firm's biggest client, Jaguar, leaves their account. Don Draper and his colleagues are left to scramble to find a new client to replace Jaguar and keep their business afloat. Meanwhile, Pete Campbell is having his own issues with the high-strung account executive, Bob Benson, and a new account they are working on.

As the episode begins, we see Pete Campbell meeting with Bob Benson to go over plans for a new account. Pete is clearly uncomfortable with Bob's overly-friendly demeanor and is unsure of his actual job title. After realizing that Bob has overstated his position, Pete confronts him and demands that he stay out of his affairs.

Elsewhere, Don is meeting with a potential new client, Dow Chemicals, but quickly realizes that the company is not a good fit for his agency's philosophy. He instead proposes a merger with a rival agency, Cutler, Gleason, and Chaough. After much debate and drama, the agencies eventually agree to merge, creating a new firm under the name Sterling Cooper & Partners.

The news of the merger spreads quickly through the agency, causing a mix of excitement and uncertainty. The staff is unsure of what their roles will be in the new company, and several characters, including Peggy Olson and Joan Harris, worry that they may be left out of the new hierarchy.

The episode reaches its climax when Don and Roger Sterling meet with several executives from Chevy to pitch a new campaign. After a tense meeting, the Chevy executives agree to move forward with the campaign, but under the condition that the new agency be able to deliver two ads by the end of the day.

Don quickly realizes that this is impossible, but thinks of a clever ploy to overcome the obstacle. He decides to leak news of the merger to the New York Times, forcing the hand of his rival agencies and allowing the new agency to release their Chevy ads later in the week.

The episode concludes on a positive note, as the characters celebrate the successful launch of their new agency. The staff is excited for the new opportunities and challenges that lie ahead, and Don seems optimistic about the future of his career.

For Immediate Release is a turning point in the series, marking the beginning of a new era for Don and his colleagues. The episode showcases the characters' resilience and determination in the face of adversity, and sets the stage for the dynamic changes that will occur in the remainder of the season.
