In the eighth season of the hit UK paranormal reality show Most Haunted, the team travels to Newcastle Upon Tyne in northeast England to investigate the North East Aircraft Museum, a sprawling complex dedicated to preserving aviation history. The museum features over 30 aircraft on display, including fighter planes, helicopters, and commercial airliners, as well as numerous artifacts and exhibits showcasing the region's role in aviation during World War II and beyond.
As the Most Haunted team arrives at the museum, they are greeted by its curator, who provides them with a tour of the site and shares some of the history behind its haunted reputation. Visitors and employees of the museum have reported numerous paranormal experiences over the years, including sightings of ghostly figures and unexplained sensations of being watched or touched.
The team decides to split up into smaller groups to cover more ground, with Yvette Fielding and Karl Beattie leading one group and Stuart Torevell and Fred Batt leading the other. They set up their equipment and begin their investigations, starting with the main exhibition hall where many of the aircraft are on display.
As they explore the hall, Yvette and Karl begin to feel a strange energy in the air and hear unexplained noises, such as footsteps and whispers. They use their EVP (electronic voice phenomenon) recorder to try to capture any ghostly voices, and are shocked when they hear what sounds like a woman's voice murmuring a message. They also use a thermal imaging camera to scan the area for any cold spots, which are often associated with ghostly activity. However, they don't pick up anything out of the ordinary.
Meanwhile, Stuart and Fred are investigating the museum's workshop area, where many of the planes are undergoing restoration. They set up a REM pod, a device that detects changes in electromagnetic fields, and soon notice unusual readings that can't be explained by any nearby electrical equipment. They also hear strange noises and begin to feel as though they are being watched. At one point, Stuart becomes convinced that he sees a shadowy figure moving in the corner of his eye, but when he turns to look, nothing is there.
As the night wears on, the team continues to investigate various areas of the museum, including the cockpit of a fighter jet and the control tower. They use a variety of equipment, such as EMF (electromagnetic field) detectors, temperature sensors, and night vision cameras, to try to capture evidence of paranormal activity. They also conduct séances and attempt to communicate with any spirits that may be present.
At one point, Yvette and Karl hear a loud banging noise that seems to come from a nearby exhibit. They hurry over to investigate, only to find that nothing has been disturbed. However, they continue to feel a strange energy in the area and decide to focus their attention there for the rest of the night.
As the investigation comes to a close, the team reviews the footage they've captured and listens to the recordings from their EVP recorder. They are excited to find some intriguing evidence, including a voice saying "help me" and several unexplained noises. They also note that the REM pod readings were particularly strong in certain areas, indicating that there may be a high concentration of ghostly activity.
Overall, the North East Aircraft Museum proves to be a fascinating location for the Most Haunted team, with plenty of potential for paranormal encounters. Whether or not they were successful in capturing concrete evidence of ghostly activity is left up to the viewer to decide, but one thing is for sure – the team's experiences at the museum will stay with them for a long time to come.
