Mrs. Fletcher season 1 episode 1 titled "Empty Best" introduces us to Eve Fletcher, a single mother whose only child, Brendan, has just left for college. With her newfound free time, Eve decides to explore a long-neglected aspect of her life: her sexuality.

Meanwhile, Brendan is having his own college experience. He's enrolled in a prestigious university, but he's finding it hard to make friends and connections. He starts to feel alienated and isolated, missing his family and his old life. When he begins to experience panic attacks, he turns to drugs and alcohol as a way of coping.
Throughout the episode, we see the contrast between Eve's newfound freedom and Brendan's struggles. The two storylines eventually converge when Eve receives a panicked phone call from Brendan, forcing her to leave behind her newfound sexual freedom and rush to her son's aid.
"Empty Best" sets the stage for what promises to be an in-depth exploration of sexuality, identity, and self-discovery. We see Eve questioning her own desires and pushing herself out of her comfort zone, while Brendan struggles to find his place in the world.
