Ep 5. Invisible Fence

In episode 5 of Mrs. Fletcher, titled "Invisible Fence," we follow the storyline of the main character, Eve, as she continues to explore her newfound freedom and identity as a single woman.

As the episode begins, we see Eve struggling to adjust to her son's new college lifestyle. Brendan has moved out of the house and is living in a dorm, which leaves Eve feeling lonely and disconnected. She finds herself constantly checking his social media accounts and worrying about his well-being, which only serves to make her feel more alone.

Meanwhile, Eve is also grappling with her own sexual desires and the stigma that comes with being an older woman who enjoys sex. She attends a women's sexuality workshop and is surprised to find that most of the attendees are younger than her.

Eve's sexual awakening is further explored when she reconnects with a former coworker, Amanda. The two women had a brief romantic encounter in their past, but Amanda is now married with children. Despite this, she and Eve share a playful flirtation, causing Eve to question her own sexuality once again.

Amidst these personal struggles, Eve also confronts issues of class and privilege. Her coworker, Margo, asks her to help plan a fundraising event for their workplace, which serves underprivileged youth. Eve is initially hesitant to participate, as she is uncomfortable with the idea of asking wealthy donors for money. However, she ultimately decides to help out and ends up connecting with a wealthy philanthropist who has a unique perspective on life.

Throughout the episode, we see Eve attempting to navigate the ever-changing landscape of her own life. She is beginning to embrace her sexuality and question her own beliefs and assumptions, while also facing the challenges of parenting and social hierarchies. As the season progresses, it will be interesting to see how Eve continues to evolve and grow, both as an individual and as a member of her community.
