Ep 1. Chapter One

Four best friends embark on their freshman year of high school in a tough inner-city Los Angeles neighborhood. Monse, Cesar, Jamal, and Ruby have been inseparable since childhood, but the start of high school brings new challenges and changes.

In the first episode, "Chapter One," we are introduced to the group and their neighborhood. Monse has just returned from a summer away at boarding school and is eager to reconnect with her friends. Cesar, the quiet and introverted member of the group, is dealing with his older brother's involvement in a local gang. Meanwhile, the group navigates the challenges of their neighborhood. They face bullying from a group of tough girls known as the "Santos," who have connections to Cesar's brother. They also deal with the threat of a gang war between the Santos and their rival gang, the Prophets.
