Ep 6. One Valentine's Day at a Time

Penelope is unsure about whether or not she should attend a fundraiser for undocumented immigrants hosted by Max, her ex-boyfriend. Her daughter, Elena, tries to convince her to go anyway, but also warns her about getting too close to Max again. Meanwhile, Schneider tries to plan the perfect Valentine's Day date for his girlfriend Avery, but keeps getting interrupted by his needy tenant, who also happens to be his ex-girlfriend. Alex, Penelope's son, struggles with buying a Valentine's Day gift for his crush. As the day goes on, each member of the family faces their own challenges and struggles with the holiday of love. But by the end of the day, they all come together and show their love for each other in their own unique ways.
