The show Parot, in its Spanish audio version, presents an intriguing plot about a group of criminals who were released from prison due to a controversial law called the Parot Doctrine. The show revolves around the life of Carmen Costa, a former police officer who works for a private security agency and is the only person who believes that the released convicts are not reformed. The fifth episode of the season, titled Protests, centers on a protest that arises in the city. It is evident that the convicts who were released under the controversial law have caused much damage after they were set free. They indulge in crimes again, and people are now questioning the government's decision to free them.

The episode begins with Carmen observing the protest's aftermath, and it is clear that the situation is intense. Protesters are gathered in front of the government building, demanding justice for the crimes committed by the ex-convicts. Carmen is keeping a close eye on the gathered protesters at the same time working to investigate the crimes to get the truth behind the release of the criminals.

Meanwhile, the former convict Armando is on the run after having killed someone. Armando is shown to be tearful, scared, and desperate, but with the guidance of Cain, another parolee, he decides to leave the city. Carmen is quick to realize that Armando and Cain might be planning something and she decides to be a step ahead of them. So, she sets a trap and captures them, with the help of the authorities.

In another interesting plot, Pepe's conscience bothers him after he is released under the Parot Doctrine. Pepe realizes that he cannot be a free man and spends his days and nights drowning himself in depression and alcohol. His wife appears in this episode and tries to help him snap out of it. She invites him back to their old home, and it appears to do him some good, as Pepe realizes that he can restart his life and perhaps find a new meaning in it. This angle shares the immediate impact of the events soon after releases of the prisoners which is central to the show's plot.

Throughout the episode, it is clear that the protests are getting out of hand. The authorities have had enough and they use force to stop the protesters. The confrontations between the police and the protesters heighten tensions, with many of the released convicts being in the mix themselves. Carmen, who is trying to get to the bottom of the case, is understandably emotional when she sees the situation getting tenser. It is interesting to see how this new situation affects everyone differently.

The show also highlights the media's involvement in current events. The media is present in all parts of the city, covering the protests and broadcasting it live. Carmen understandably frantically tries to avoid being captured on camera, as it might derail her investigation. But despite her precautions, her picture appears in the media, and she becomes hunted by both the protestors and the ex-convicts.

Towards the end of the episode, Carmen is shown to be successful in capturing the ex-convicts involved in the recent crimes. It is a small win, but it helps her perception in the public eye after her picture is shared on media. The episode ends with families trying to talk to the protestors, showing how the release of these convicts have affected everyone around them, and our protagonist Carmen looking ahead to what might be on the horizon.

Overall, episode 5 of Parot is a well-written and engaging episode in the series' inaugural season. It highlights the various sides of the protests that arose in the city, and touches upon the impact of the convicts' release on their families and acquaintances as well. It also demonstrates how the media and authorities play a vital role in shaping public perception. At the same time, the episode continues to build the tension that has simmered right from the get-go in the show's plot.
