Pokemon the Series Season 15 Episode 32 Clash of the Connoisseurs!
- September 22, 2012
As Cilan prepares to attend a prestigious Connoisseur's Conference, he becomes aware of his brother Chili's attendance at the same conference. Excited for a reunion with his brother, Cilan heads to the venue early to help out his colleagues in setting up for the event.
On the way, he runs into Burgundy, a fellow Connoisseur who Cilan has faced in the past with her fiery and competitive attitude. She informs him of an exciting event that is set to happen: a Connoisseur competition between the two of them, with the winner earning the coveted title of Top Connoisseur.
Cilan, never one to back down from a challenge, agrees to the matchup, confident in his abilities. But he soon realizes that this competition is going to be more challenging than he anticipated.
The competition is broken up into a series of rounds, in which the two Connoisseurs must identify various Pokemon based on their characteristics and flavor. To make it more challenging, they must do so blindfolded, relying only on their sense of taste and smell.
Cilan performs well in the first few rounds, correctly identifying the Pokemon with ease. But Burgundy soon takes the lead and remains in front for most of the competition. Cilan becomes increasingly flustered as he struggles to identify the Pokemon in the final rounds, knowing that his chance at the top title is slipping away.
Just when it seems like Burgundy is going to take the win, Cilan has a sudden epiphany. He remembers an experience he had with Chili, where they had tasted a unique dish together that had taught them to really taste the ingredients and not just rely on their instincts.
With newfound focus and determination, Cilan sweeps ahead and takes the lead, correctly identifying the final few Pokemon and clinching the title of Top Connoisseur. Burgundy is gracious in defeat, congratulating Cilan on his victory.
Epilogue notes that Ash and friends leave Burgundy and Cilan behind to head toward the next Gym, but Cilan notes that he hopes he and Burgundy will meet again at the Connoisseur's Conference next year, and that he genuinely likes the other Connoisseur.
