Ep 5. A Blustery Santalune Gym Battle!

As Ash and his friends continue their journey in the Kalos region, they arrive at Santalune City where Ash is eager to earn his first Gym Badge. However, before he can challenge Viola, the Gym Leader, he must first face her younger sister, Alexa, in a battle known as the Gym Leader's Special.

Alexa is a skilled photographer and journalist who asks Ash for a battle in exchange for information about the Gym. Ash accepts and the battle begins with Pikachu facing off against Alexa's Helioptile. The two Pokemon exchange electric attacks, but eventually Helioptile overpowers Pikachu with a combination of Parabolic Charge and Thunderbolt. Ash recalls Pikachu and sends out Fletchling, who manages to take down Helioptile with a powerful Quick Attack.

Next up is Vivillon, but Fletchling is unable to dodge the Butterfly Pokemon's Sleep Powder. Ash recalls Fletchling and sends out Froakie. Vivillon proves to be a difficult opponent, using its Powder Scattering move to confuse Froakie and repeatedly landing Sleep Powder attacks. However, Froakie manages to use his quick reflexes to dodge Vivillon's attacks and eventually lands a hit with Water Pulse, defeating the Bug/Flying Pokemon.

Alexa's final Pokemon is her ace, a powerful Gogoat. Froakie manages to hold his own against the large Grass type, but Gogoat's size and strength prove to be too much for him. Ash recalls Froakie and sends out his newly caught Pikachu, who uses his speed and agility to dodge Gogoat's attacks and land hits with Thunderbolt and Electro Ball.

Despite Alexa's best efforts, Pikachu manages to win the battle, earning Ash his first Gym Leader's Special and the information he needs to challenge Viola's Gym. However, as they leave the Gym, they notice that the weather has taken a turn for the worse and a massive storm is brewing.

As they try to find shelter from the storm, they stumble upon Viola's Gym, which has been transformed into a massive fortress. Inside, they find Viola and her loyal Surskit, who greets them with a challenge to a battle. Ash accepts and the battle begins with Pikachu facing off against Surskit.

The battle is intense, with Surskit using a combination of Ice Beam and Bubble to try and take down Pikachu. However, Pikachu's speed and agility prove to be too much for Surskit, and he manages to land several powerful hits, eventually defeating the Water/Bug type. Next up is Viola's Vivillon, who proves to be a formidable opponent with her powerful Gust attacks and the ability to confuse Pikachu with her Sleep Powder. However, Pikachu manages to land a powerful Electro Ball, knocking out Vivillon and earning Ash his first Gym Badge in Kalos.

As the storm continues to rage outside, Ash and his friends celebrate their victory and prepare for the next leg of their journey. With one Gym Badge under his belt, Ash is eager to continue his quest to become a Pokemon Master, but he knows that there are many challenges and battles still ahead of him.
