Presunto Culpable is a Spanish thriller drama TV show. The series has an interesting premise, where a man named Jon Arístegui, a successful chef, finds himself accused of his own wife's murder, an event that occurred eight years ago. He returns to his hometown in northern Spain to confront his past and clear his name. In the first episode, titled "Episode - 1," we meet Jon, who is living with his new girlfriend in Salamanca, Spain. His life is perfect until he receives a call from his father, who is living in a village called Oviedo. He informs Jon that his mother has passed away, and asks him to come to Oviedo for the funeral.

Jon agrees to go, although he knows he is not welcome in Oviedo. He left eight years ago after being accused of his wife's murder, and everyone in the village still thinks he is guilty. Jon believes that it was his father who called, and not his mother who had recently passed away, as he has no relationship with his father and has not spoken to him in years.

The journey to Oviedo takes Jon through some of the most beautiful and wild parts of the Basque Country, through vast green landscapes and towering mountains. He is driving an old car that has seen better days, and when he arrives, he realizes that things might not be as he thought they would be.

As he enters the village, he sees police officers immediately surrounding him. They take him to the police station, where they start questioning him about his wife's murder, which happened eight years ago. Jon tells them that he has nothing to do with it, but they don't believe him. He is placed in the cell and left there for the night.

The next morning, Jon is taken to the court, where he meets his lawyer, Marta Ezpeleta. She informs him that he is indeed a suspect in his wife's murder case and that there is enough evidence against him to convict him. The prosecutor now has a new witness, one who had not come up in the original investigation, and who claims to have seen Jon at the scene of the crime. The witness is Jon's father, and he is doing this to get revenge on Jon for leaving Oviedo and never looking back.

In the months leading up to his wife's murder, Jon was known to have been going through a rough patch in his marriage. He was having an affair with a waitress he had recently met, and his wife had found out about it. Jon's wife was a successful lawyer, and it was believed that their marriage was under strain because of Jon's infidelity.

With the new witness and the evidence piling up against him, Jon realizes that he has to take matters into his own hands. He starts investigating his wife's murder himself, trying to find out who the real killer was. He begins to unravel a web of lies and deceit, and he comes to realize that he may not have known his wife as well as he thought he did.

In this first episode, Presunto Culpable set a strong foundation for the rest of the series. It is a gripping drama that constantly keeps you on the edge of your seat, with twists and turns that you won't see coming. The performances are top-notch, with Álex García delivering a standout performance as Jon Arístegui, and the rest of the cast bringing their A-game as well. Overall, Presunto Culpable is an engaging thriller that will keep you hooked until the very end.
