David is starting to feel increasingly isolated as the summer comes to a close. With graduation looming, he's unsure about where he wants to go in life. Meanwhile, his relationships with his father and girlfriend are both starting to crack under the pressure of his uncertainty.

Just when he thought things couldn't get any worse, David is tasked with helping his boss, Getty, plan his son's bar mitzvah. This puts him in close proximity to Karen, Getty's wife, who David has been having an affair with. As tensions rise between David and Getty, he starts to realize that his actions may have serious consequences for not only himself but everyone around him.

Elsewhere, Wheeler is trying to make peace with his girlfriend, Misty, after their fight at the costume party. He enlists David's help in creating a romantic gesture to win her back, but things don't go exactly as planned.

Meanwhile, Nash and his mob buddies are still on the look-out for a missing associate. The search leads them to the country club, where David and Getty's bar mitzvah planning is in full swing. As the day of the event draws closer, tensions continue to rise and secrets threaten to spill out into the open.

In this penultimate episode of Red Oaks season 1, the characters' true colors are revealed as they begin to grapple with the harsh realities of adulthood. Will David be able to reconcile his relationships with his loved ones? Will Wheeler manage to win Misty back? And will Nash find the missing mobster before it's too late? Tune in to find out in "The Bar Mitzvah."
