Rostered On is an Australian comedy television series that first premiered on June 6, 2016. The show is centered around the day-to-day operations of a fictional electronics store named 'Electroworld' and is highlighted by the quirky, humorous, and mischievous group of employees who work there. The series is directed and produced by Ryan Chamley and written by Chamley, Josh Gardiner, and Neily Gootjes.

The show centers around the life of employees working in a small electronic store struggling to make business as competition looms larger over them. Rostered On aims to give viewers a humorous insight into the daily struggles of working in an electronics store, including dealing with difficult customers, overbearing management, and workplace romances. The series is primarily shot with the use of handheld camera work, giving a realistic portrayal of the chaos that takes place on the store's shop floor.

The series stars Paul Moore as the hard-working and passionate salesman named 'Daniel', who has been with the company for years and genuinely cares about his job, much to the chagrin of his lazy and apathetic coworkers. Susie Kazda plays the role of the shift supervisor 'Samantha', who is determined to keep control over her staff and ensure that the store runs smoothly. Stephen Francis features as the charismatic and charming store manager 'Griff', who's more interested in making a quick buck than actually running a successful store.

Viewers watch as the dynamic between the employees of Electroworld ebbs and flows with the demanding requirements of retail work. Daniel is the single employee who actually cares about his job to the point of obsessively promoting the latest technology to customers. He eagerly awaits the arrival of the new iPhone so that he can employ his tricks in upselling it. On the other hand, Samantha is overbearing at times, but her dedication to duty and Ethos of 'get sh*t done is admirable. She will stop at nothing to get people to work and have contracts shifted to her preferred timings to pass the team's work efficiently.

The show often pokes fun at its characters, such as the sleazy and oily Casper, the surly Scotty, and the millennial Adorkable Jess. Each has their unique personalities and their quirks that they bring to the series. They struggle with the same comedic moral issues and interpersonal situations that one might face in a blue-collar retail job. Whether it’s dealing with irate customers, trying not to let your co-workers down, or simply trying to make it through the day without getting scolded by Samantha, the staff at Electroworld experiences it all.

Throughout the series, viewers are taken on a journey full of laughs, drama, and heartwarming moments. The show not only showcases the struggles of working retail but also addresses the various issues it poses to employees such as mental health issues, financial stability to afford basic life necessities, work ethic and worker exploitation.

In conclusion, Rostered On is a fun and entertaining comedy series that provides a behind-the-scenes look at the life of retail employees. The show’s humor and characters are relatable, memorable, and guaranteed to leave you laughing out loud. Although the series only ran for two seasons, it is a hidden gem that more than delivers when it comes to laughs and entertainment.
