Snake Boss is a thrilling reality show that follows the adventures of Julia Baker, a fearless snake catcher living in Southeast Queensland. In each episode, Julia tackles some of the most dangerous and deadly snakes in the country, and her fearless approach to the job makes for gripping television.
In season 1, episode 4, entitled "Bird App", Julia faces her biggest challenge yet when she receives a call from a worried homeowner. The homeowner has a serious snake problem – a number of Eastern Brown snakes have taken up residence in a tree in their backyard and it's causing quite a stir. This is a particularly dangerous situation, as Eastern Brown snakes are known to be one of the deadliest in Australia. The homeowner has tried everything to get rid of the snakes, but to no avail. It's up to Julia to come up with a plan to safely remove the snakes and relocate them to a safer location.
Upon arriving at the home, Julia quickly summons up her team and starts scoping out the situation. The Eastern Brown snakes are known for being arboreal, which means that they are tree-dwelling animals. The snakes in question have made their way to a high branch, making it very difficult to safely catch them. Julia knows she needs a solution fast – these snakes are not to be trifled with.
To help her plan her next move, Julia turns to her trusty “bird app”. The app helps identify the different species of birds in the area and can predict where their nests may be located. This is incredibly useful as Eastern Brown snakes are known to prey on birds. Once Julia has a good idea of where the nests are located, she uses this information to lay a trap.
The trap involves placing a PVC pipe under the branch where the Eastern Brown snakes are located. Julia hopes that they will eventually make their way down the branch and into the pipe. Once inside, their movement will trigger a locking mechanism, trapping the snakes safely inside. Julia is an expert in her craft, and she's confident that this plan will work.
The following day, the team returns to the home to check on the trap. To their delight, they have successfully captured not one, but three Eastern Brown snakes. The snakes are carefully removed from the tree and relocated to a new home, far from any human contact. Julia and her team's work in saving the snakes was not only important for preserving the wildlife, but also keeping the community safe.
Despite how dangerous this episode could have been, "Bird App" highlights the incredible skills and bravery of Julia Baker and her team. They showed unwavering determination and intelligence in the face of a challenging situation, and their efforts ultimately paid off. The episode is yet another must-see installment in the series, showcasing the awe-inspiring talent of the Snake Boss herself.
