Ep 1. Starry Eyed

It's a brand new day for Dave, a 24-year-old bartender and DJ living in Auckland City, New Zealand. Having just moved into his new flat, Dave is determined to make the most of his life and start anew after his painful breakup with his longtime girlfriend, Cara. With the help of his carefree and adventurous best friend, Cara's younger sister Lucy, Dave is ready for anything.

As the episode begins, Dave is getting ready for his first day at work at the bar he recently landed a job at. We see him strolling through the streets of Auckland, taking in the beautiful scenery and the culture that surrounds him. The excitement of starting a new chapter in his life is palpable, and you can feel it in the energy he exudes.

Once he arrives at work, he is introduced to his boss, a no-nonsense woman named Mary. He meets a girl named Jess, who is just as eager to make new friends as he is. They bond over their love of music, and Dave is impressed with Jess's knowledge of musical legends he admires.

As the night goes on, Dave and Jess continue to talk and flirt with each other. He feels a spark between them, and he's excited about the possibility of starting something new with Jess. However, as the party winds down and everyone is packing up to leave, Dave runs into Cara once again.

As they talk, it becomes apparent that Cara has moved on from their relationship and is happy with her current boyfriend. Dave is hurt but he realizes that he needs to let go and move on.

The next day, as Dave is at work, he sees Jess walk into the bar. They exchange pleasantries, but Dave can't shake the feeling that he's not ready to start something new just yet. He's still processing the pain from his breakup with Cara, and he doesn't want to hurt Jess in the process.

As the episode ends, we see Dave walking through Auckland once again. He reflects on the events of the past few days and realizes that he needs to focus on himself for a while. He has to let go of the past and embrace the present before he can even think about starting something new.
