In Taboo season 1 episode 6, we continue to follow the story of James Keziah Delaney (played by Tom Hardy), a mysterious man who returns to England in the early 1800s after spending years in Africa and is determined to reclaim his family's trading empire.

The episode begins with James and Cholmondeley (Tom Hollander) working on their gunpowder project, which is proving to be successful. Meanwhile, Sir Stuart Strange (Jonathan Pryce) and the East India Company's efforts to stop James from gaining control of the Nootka Sound continue.

The main focus of the episode, however, is on James' relationship with his half-sister Zilpha Geary (Oona Chaplin), who he has been having a passionate and forbidden affair with. Zilpha is struggling with her feelings for James and decides to take matters into her own hands by visiting her estranged husband Thorne (Jefferson Hall) and telling him that she is ready to be with him again.

This decision puts James in a dangerous position as Thorne is working with the East India Company and is determined to destroy James. In an attempt to protect Zilpha, James visits Thorne and warns him to stay away from her. Their encounter quickly turns violent, and James is left badly wounded.

We also see the return of James' trusted ally, Atticus (Stephen Graham), who arrives with news that James' father is still alive and being held captive in a mental institution. James decides to visit his father, hoping that he will have valuable information about the Nootka Sound and the East India Company's plans.

As James continues to navigate the dangerous world of trade and politics in 19th century London, he must also confront his past and the dark secrets that haunt him. Will he be able to reclaim his family's legacy and protect the ones he loves?

Episode 6 of Taboo is a thrilling and intense installment of the series, with plenty of action and suspense. The performances by the talented cast, particularly Tom Hardy and Oona Chaplin, are outstanding, and the writing is top-notch. Fans of period dramas, historical fiction, and political intrigue will definitely find this episode and the series as a whole to be worth watching.
