The Bride of Habaek is a South Korean television series, based on the comic book named "Bride of the Water God" by Yoon Mi-kyung. The story revolves around Habaek, the Water God, who visits Earth with the task of finding three god stones with the help of his human servant, So-ah, in order to claim his rightful place as king of the Divine Realm. The series is a romantic fantasy, showcasing the growing love between Habaek and So-ah, along with many obstacles they face both on Earth and in the Divine Realm.

In Episode 1, we are introduced to So-ah, a psychiatrist who has been through a traumatic childhood experience involving water, and now resents it. Meanwhile, Moo-ra tries to convince So-ah to switch sides and help her instead of Habaek. So-ah also faces personal challenges, as she has to confront her fear of water and her memories of the past.

Aside from the main plot, Episode 1 also introduces several supporting characters, including Habaek's advisors, Hu-ye and Joo-dong, and So-ah's friend and fellow psychiatrist, Yoo-sang. Hu-ye and Joo-dong are tasked with finding the other two god stones, and Yoo-sang adds humor to the story with his clumsy antics.
