Snoopy The Psychiatrist is the seventh episode of the first season of The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show. The episode mainly focuses on Snoopy, Charlie Brown's pet beagle, who has declared himself as a psychiatrist and started offering psychiatric service to his friends.

In the beginning, we see Snoopy setting up his psychiatric booth where he will talk to his patients, who are mostly his friends and siblings. He even wears a lab coat and puts up a signboard which reads "Psychiatric Help $5" to make his profession look legitimate. Snoopy's first patient is Lucy, Charlie Brown's bossy and opinionated friend, who has come to see Snoopy for her anxiety issues. However, Lucy only wants to talk about herself and does not listen to Snoopy's advice, which frustrates him.

Next, we see Snoopy's younger sister Sally, who wants to consult him for her school project on psychiatrists. She wants Snoopy to tell her what psychiatrists do, but Snoopy, who is now convinced of his own abilities as a psychiatrist, tries to impress Sally with his exaggerated knowledge. Sally sees through Snoopy's pretense and decides to leave, but Snoopy stops her and tries to convince her to become his permanent patient.

Meanwhile, Charlie Brown's friend Linus, who is known for carrying a blanket with him at all times, is also struggling with his own problems. Linus is trying to quit his habit of sucking his thumb but is finding it difficult. When he goes to Snoopy for advice, Snoopy, who has no experience in dealing with this kind of problem, starts singing a song about thumb-sucking instead of providing any useful advice.

Later, Snoopy's best friend Woodstock arrives at his doorstep, looking unhappy and depressed. Despite being a bird, Woodstock seems to have some emotional issues, which Snoopy tries to address with his expertise. However, the session does not go as planned, and Snoopy ends up making fun of Woodstock's problems, which hurts his feelings.

In the end, we see Snoopy talking to his cousin Spike, who lives in the desert and is also a psychiatrist. Spike tells Snoopy that he needs to be more empathetic towards his patients and that he cannot solve all their problems on his own. Spike advises Snoopy to take his profession seriously and help his patients in the best way possible.

Overall, Snoopy The Psychiatrist is a fun episode that highlights the comical side of psychiatry and therapy. It shows how even a dog like Snoopy can become a successful psychiatrist if he is dedicated to his profession and willing to learn. The episode also teaches us the importance of empathy and understanding when dealing with people's emotional issues.
