Ep 8. The Case of the Spoiled Sports Day

After the previous case of the stolen soccer ball, something strange happens in school. Sports Day is expected to take place, but all the equipment goes missing. With the help of Maudie Miller (Anna Cooke) and Zac Mills (Aston Droomer), the InBESTigators set out to solve the case of the missing sports equipment. Ezra Banks (James Saunders) and Ava Andrikides (Abby Bergman) follow the leads, including questioning the members of the school staff and checking the security cameras around the school. Meanwhile, Kyle Kilmson (Jamie Carter), the responsible person for preparing Sports Day, is feeling troubled as he is yet to deliver any equipment on the actual day.
As the InBESTigators investigate further, they come across possible suspects who could have benefited from the disappearance of the sports equipment. They become confident that their investigation would lead to the discovery of the missing equipment, but they end up with more questions than answers. The team suspects that someone could have stolen the equipment for money, someone who is trying to hurt the school, or someone who doesn't want Sports Day to take place. With no clear motive, the team decides to widen their search and investigate every possibility.
When all the leads dry up, Ava suggests refreshing their memory by revisiting the scene of the crime. She believes that there is always something to learn from physically being in the place where a crime was committed. While they are trying to figure out how the equipment was taken from the storeroom, Ezra devises a clever plan to lure the culprit to confess even if they are not in the scene. He employs Maudie and Zac to spread rumors around the school about their most recent lead, hoping that the thief may hear and confess.
In the end, the team solves the case of the missing sports equipment. With the culprit caught, they set out to return the equipment just in the nick of time for Sports Day to take place. The day proceeds smoothly with everyone having a great time. The InBESTigators take pride in knowing that they saved sports day and were able to prove once again that they are the best in the business.
The episode wraps up with the team feeling reenergized by having solved another case. Ava reminds them that they are only getting started, and still have a lot more cases to solve. The other members of the InBESTigators affirm that they have never been more committed to solving any case than they are to the cases they are currently working on. This episode set the tone for future episodes, showing that this team of kid detectives is ready to take on any challenge.
