Quentin and Julia arrive in Fillory, hoping to find a rare plant that could possibly cure Alice's condition. Meanwhile, Penny discovers that he has inadvertently brought back a mysterious woman from the Neitherlands, who now resides in his body and is seeking her own agenda. Eliot and Margo's reign as High King and Queen of Fillory hits a roadblock when they are forced to travel to the Cock Barrens to negotiate with the Lorians, who are threatening war. As tensions rise and secrets are revealed, the group must work together to navigate the dangerous terrain and confront their own demons.
