During a battle with the Evil Warriors, Man-E-Faces monster guise is taken control of by Beast Man, resulting in feelings of self-doubt for the hero.

Time rewinds to a year ago. Iteya Minamoto (Akihisa Shiono), cloaked in quiet madness, appears before Ayame. "Why are you here?" "I waiting for you, Ayame." He ignores Yoko Mogami (Misuzu Kanno), bleeding at the foot of the stairs, and approaches Ayame. Consumed by hatred, Iteya attacks like a beast. Ayame fights back through tears. (C) TV Asahi?SLL

Ayame and Kanon colluded, leading to Iteya's arrest. Believing it was over, Ayame began discarding memories of him. Then, detective Kanbara informed her that Iteya was released because Kanon withdrew the complaint, saying he had repented. When Ayame asked why, Kanon shocked her by saying she had killed someone. Struck and left alone by Iteya, the man she loved, Ayame is stunned. The pain tells her it wasn't a dream. The next day, he shows up with a flower and an apology. Though moved, she ends things. On the night of Okutaro Nada's funeral, Ayame gives in to passion and crosses the line with Iteya. Unable to forget him, she visits his fencing club under the pretext of returning a T-shirt.
