Ep 6. The Buffalo Hunter

In "The Son" season 1 episode 6, titled "The Buffalo Hunter," tensions between the McCulloughs and neighboring oil company, Standard Oil, continue to rise. The episode begins with Eli (Pierce Brosnan) and Bunker discussing the buffalo hunt that is taking place on their ranch. Meanwhile, Pete (Henry Garrett) begins to feel guilty about his involvement in the Standard Oil deal, especially after he learns that the company plans to construct a pipeline through the McCullough land without their permission. He confides in Sally (Jess Weixler), who supports him but warns him not to act hastily.

Back on the ranch, Toshaway (Zahn McClarnon) and Prairie Flower (Elizabeth Frances) arrive and ask Eli for his help in finding another Comanche tribe that has gone missing. Eli is hesitant to get involved, but ultimately agrees to help after Toshaway reveals that his daughter is one of the missing tribe members.

As they search for the missing tribe, tensions rise between Eli and Toshaway over their difference in opinions about the future of the Comanche people. Toshaway believes in maintaining their traditional way of life, while Eli is more focused on assimilating into white society.

Meanwhile, back in town, Maria (Paola Núñez) grows suspicious of Pete's relationship with Sally and hires a private investigator to follow them. The investigator's findings lead Maria to confront Pete, who admits to his feelings for Sally.

The episode ends with Eli successfully finding the missing Comanche tribe and reuniting them with Toshaway and Prairie Flower. However, tensions between the McCulloughs and Standard Oil continue to escalate, setting up the potential for conflict in future episodes.
