The Voice Season 17 Episode 8 The Battles, Part 2

The Voice season 17 is in full swing as the contestants face off in the intense Battle Rounds. In episode 8, titled The Battles, Part 2, the coaches continue to mentor their teams and prepare them for the stage.

The night begins with Kelly Clarkson and her advisor Normani working with Alex Guthrie and Injoy Fountain as they prepare to battle it out with a soulful rendition of "Home" by Marc Broussard. The performance is powerful and emotional, with both singers pouring their hearts into the song. John Legend comments on the "seamless" blending of their voices, saying it was "incredible."

Next up is Gwen Stefani and Will.i.am guiding their contestants Kyndal Inskeep and James Violet as they tackle the classic hit "I Could Use a Love Song" by Maren Morris. Clarkson and her advisor Dua Lipa are up again, working with Shane Q and Kiara Brown on a soulful version of "Mercy" by Duffy. The pair of singers brings power and passion to the stage, with Kiara's soulful tone complementing Shane's range. Shelton praises their "bluesy" vibe, saying they both brought a "real cool factor" to the performance.

Next, Team Gwen's Jake Hoot and Steve Knill take on "Always On My Mind" by Willie Nelson, with Stefani and advisor Will.i.am working with them to perfect their harmonies. The two country crooners bring a heartfelt performance, with Jake showcasing his deep voice and Steve adding a higher harmony. Clarkson praises the "tender" and "emotional" performance, while Legend compliments their "great command of the stage."

The final battle of the night comes from Team Legend's Marybeth Byrd and Preston C. Howell as they tackle the hit song "All I Ask" by Adele. With Legend and advisor Miguel guiding them, the two singers bring a stunning performance filled with emotion and raw talent. Howell's smooth vocals nicely complement Byrd's powerhouse voice, and the coaches are blown away by their chemistry on stage.

As the battles come to a close, the coaches must make difficult decisions and choose which contestant will move forward to the knockout round. With stunning performances and powerful vocal abilities, it's up to the coaches to determine which of their teams will be the strongest going forward in the competition.
