Ep 2. The Ex-Girlfriend

Emily and Jason's relationship is put to the test when Emily's ex-boyfriend, Evan, comes to town for a wedding. Jason feels threatened by the handsome and successful Evan, who seems to have everything together. Emily assures Jason that she's over Evan and that he's just a friend, but Jason's insecurities get the best of him.

Meanwhile, Nikki and Erica are having their own relationship troubles. Nikki is upset that Erica hasn't told her parents about their relationship and feels like Erica is ashamed of her. Erica is hesitant to come out to her conservative Indian parents, but realizes that she can't keep lying to them. She decides to come clean and tell her parents about Nikki, even though it may mean risking their disapproval.

Back at the wedding, things are getting awkward between Jason and Evan. Jason makes a fool of himself trying to impress Evan and show him that he's just as successful as he is. Emily tries to smooth things over, but Evan can tell that there's tension between them. Later, when Jason and Emily are alone, he admits that he's scared of losing her to someone like Evan. Emily assures him that she loves him and that he has nothing to worry about.

As the night goes on, things come to a head between Nikki and Erica's parents. They don't take the news well and accuse Erica of betraying their culture and family values. Nikki tries to defend Erica, but it only makes things worse. The tension is palpable as everyone tries to navigate the situation.

In the end, Jason and Emily's relationship is stronger than ever, and Nikki and Erica are still trying to work through their issues. All four of them have learned that relationships are hard work, but if you're willing to fight for them, they can be worth it.
