In the first episode of VeggieTales in the City season 1, titled "Burgers for Sale / Night Phony," the beloved vegetable characters we know and love are now living in the big city and using their unique talents to help those in need.
In "Burgers for Sale," Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber decide to open a new burger restaurant for the residents of the city. However, things don't go as planned when they realize they have competition in the form of a shady food truck owner named Pete. With the help of their friends, Bob and Larry must come up with a plan to outsmart Pete and save their burger business.
Meanwhile, in "Night Phony," Junior Asparagus and his friend Laura Carrot stumble upon a mysterious phone book while out for a walk. They start making prank phone calls, but things take a scary turn when they inadvertently call a notorious criminal. With the help of their superhero alter-egos, Captain Mike Asparagus and Masked Madame Blueberry, the two friends work together to catch the criminal and save the day.
Throughout the episode, viewers get to see the familiar faces of their favorite VeggieTales characters as they navigate their way through new challenges in the bustling city.
