When They See Us is a harrowing Netflix series that tells the true story of the Central Park Five, a group of young black and Latino men who were wrongfully convicted of raping a white woman in New York City in 1989. Episode 4, simply titled "Episode 4," takes place several years after the initial scandal and trial. The episode explores how the five men - Antron McCray, Yusef Salaam, Korey Wise, Kevin Richardson, and Raymond Santana - struggled to rebuild their lives in the aftermath of their wrongful conviction.

The episode begins by introducing us to Korey Wise, who is now serving time in an adult prison. He is relentlessly bullied by other inmates, who taunt him with racial slurs and threaten him with violence. Korey remains steadfast, however, refusing to attack anyone or back down from his convictions. As he endures his punishment, he reflects on the years that have passed since the trial, and the ways in which his life has changed.

Next, we see Kevin Richardson, who has been released from prison and is living with his family. Kevin is struggling to adjust to life outside of prison, as he finds it difficult to re-entry society. He is plagued by anger and feels that he has been unjustly punished for a crime he did not commit. At the same time, he is deeply grateful for the support of his family, who have stood by him throughout his ordeal.

The episode also explores the experiences of Antron McCray and Raymond Santana, who are both trying to rebuild their lives after being released from prison. Antron is still struggling to come to terms with the fact that he was wrongfully convicted, and he feels that his life has been permanently damaged by the experience. Raymond, meanwhile, has become an advocate for other wrongfully convicted individuals, and he is determined to do everything he can to help others who have suffered similar injustices.

Finally, we see Yusef Salaam, who has also been released from prison and is living with his mother. Yusef is happy to be back home, but he is also struggling with a sense of disillusionment. He hoped that his release would bring him justice, but instead he finds that the world is just as unforgiving as ever. Frustrated and bitter, Yusef must find a way to channel his anger into something positive.

"Episode 4" is a powerful examination of the long-term effects of wrongful conviction. It is a reminder that justice is about more than just punishing the guilty - it also involves recognizing and correcting the injustices that exist within our society. As the episode comes to a close, we are left with a sense of hope that the Central Park Five will be able to rebuild their lives and find a measure of peace after their grueling ordeal.
