Ep 1. Pilot

White Famous is a comedy series which revolves around a young African-American comedian named Floyd Mooney, who is desperate to gain fame and recognition but is hesitant to compromise on his artistic integrity. In the Pilot episode, we see Floyd juggling his fledgling comedy career in Los Angeles along with his responsibilities as a divorced dad to his young son.

Floyd is known for his stand-up comedy acts that are edgy, raw, and honest, but often crossing the line. He performs at small clubs and venues, and his fan base is limited. However, the audition does not go as planned, and he ends up getting humiliated in front of the producers and other actors.

Floyd's personal life is just as chaotic as his professional life. He is in the middle of a divorce from his ex-wife, Sadie (played by Cleopatra Coleman), who has custody of their child. In the Pilot episode, we see Floyd struggling to reconcile with Sadie and be present for his son while trying to make it big in the entertainment industry.

Throughout the episode, viewers are introduced to the various colorful characters in Floyd's life, including his agent, Malcolm (played by Utkarsh Ambudkar), who is more interested in partying and making money than advancing Floyd's career. There's also Teddy, Floyd's stoner neighbor, who offers some comic relief and a sounding board for Floyd's woes.

Despite the ups and downs, Floyd is determined to make a name for himself in the entertainment industry on his own terms. He knows that he is up against difficult challenges, especially as a black comedian trying to break into mainstream comedy.
