Ep 9. Young & Lottery

Young & Hungry season 3 episode 9, "Young & Lottery," opens with Gabi (Emily Osment) and Sofia (Aimee Carrero) excitedly discussing their big plans for their lottery winnings. Both have bought tickets and are convinced that they are going to hit it big. Meanwhile, Josh (Jonathan Sadowski) is dealing with his own lottery issues. His father has won the lottery and is coming to town and he is worried that his arrival will bring chaos.

As they wait for the results of the lottery, they start to plan out their dreams for their winnings. Gabi wants to open her own restaurant, while Sofia wants to travel around the world. However, their excitement is short-lived when they realize that they haven't won anything. They are both disappointed, but Gabi is hit the hardest. Her dreams of opening her own restaurant seem even further away now.

Josh's father, played by guest star Bruce Dern, arrives in town and immediately causes chaos. He is a free spirit, more interested in partying and having a good time than spending time with his son. Josh is frustrated and tries to engage his father in meaningful conversation, but his efforts are met with resistance.

Meanwhile, Gabi starts to spiral into a depression. She is convinced that she will never achieve her dreams and that her life is meaningless. Sofia tries to cheer her up, but nothing seems to work. Gabi decides to drown her sorrows in food and gets into a huge fight with Sofia.

Josh's father tries to make amends with his son and takes him out for a wild night on the town. They have a great time, but Josh's father ends up losing all of his lottery winnings in a wild game of poker. Josh is furious and tells his father that he needs to take responsibility for his actions.

Back at the apartment, Gabi comes up with a plan. She decides to host a lottery party and invite all of their friends over to celebrate their non-winnings. She prepares a feast and sets up a mini casino in the living room. Everyone has a great time and Gabi finally starts to feel better.

Towards the end of the episode, Josh's father surprises him with a gift. He has used the last of his money to buy Josh his dream car. Josh is touched by the gesture and the two men make amends.

Overall, "Young & Lottery" is a fun and lighthearted episode that shows the importance of friendship and family. It highlights the fact that even when things don't go according to plan, it's possible to find happiness and positivity in the situation. The episode features some great guest stars and the chemistry between the cast members is as strong as ever.
