Papi and Chloe learn of this problem and come up with a way to raise the money. A prestigious dog show is coming, and the prize money could save Mr. and Mrs. Cortez's home. Meanwhile, while playing Chihuahua warrior Papi, Jr. falls out the window only to be caught by an old family friend, Delgado, a German shepherd who use to run with them in Mexico.
Sam and his parents enter the dog show with Delgado, Papi and Chloe. Papi almost wins, but the owner of a French Poodle Appoline tells the judge that Papi isn't a thoroughbred and doesn't qualify to win. Broken-hearted, the Cortezs' and their dogs are resigned to the fact that they will have to give up their home.
But Papi doesn't give up like a true Chihuahua warrior. He, Chloe and Delgado go after some bank robbers. In the midst of the chase Delgado come to meet his estranged sons who are on the LA police canine team. They join forces to catch the criminals. The bank awards the reward money to the Cortez's. Their home is saved. Delgado joins his sons. And everyone lives happily ever after.
