In the small desert town of Perfection, Nevada, strange occurrences begin to happen when a pair of handymen, Val McKee (Kevin Bacon) and Earl Bassett (Fred Ward), stumble upon the remains of a sheepherder who appears to have been killed in a strange way. As they investigate, they discover that massive, worm-like creatures are living underground and honing in on the vibrations of anything on the surface.

The creatures, which soon become known as Graboids, wreak havoc on the small town, killing and destroying anything in their path. As more and more people fall victim to the Graboids, the townsfolk band together to come up with a plan to defeat the creatures before it's too late.

The group includes the two handymen, seismology student Rhonda LeBeck (Finn Carter), the local survivalist couple Burt and Heather Gummer (Michael Gross and Reba McEntire), and a number of other townspeople. They must use their knowledge of the terrain and the Graboids' weaknesses to outsmart the creatures and save their town.

As the Graboids grow in number and intelligence, the group must race against the clock to stop them before they can kill again. With tension and excitement around every corner, the group risks their lives to protect their home from the dangerous creatures that lurk beneath their feet.

Tremors is a thrilling action-comedy that blends elements of horror, science fiction, and westerns to create a unique and memorable cinematic experience. The performances of Bacon, Ward, and Carter as the main trio shine, while Michael Gross and Reba McEntire bring a surprising level of humor and charm to their roles as the Gummer couple. The special effects, featuring both practical effects and early use of CGI, hold up remarkably well for a film from the early 1990s.

Overall, Tremors is a fun and exciting movie that is perfect for fans of action, horror, and comedy films alike. The film's success led to multiple sequels and a television series, but the original remains a classic of the genre that is still enjoyed by audiences today.

Tremors is a 1990 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 36 minutes. It has received mostly positive reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 7.1 and a MetaScore of 65.
