In Community season 2 episode 17, titled "Intro to Political Science," the study group in Greendale Community College delves into the world of politics as they take the titular course. The episode starts with Jeff (played by Joel McHale) trying to avoid taking the class altogether, but he ends up joining the class with the rest of the group - Annie (played by Alison Brie), Troy (played by Donald Glover), Abed (played by Danny Pudi), Shirley (played by Yvette Nicole Brown), Pierce (played by Chevy Chase), and Britta (played by Gillian Jacobs).

As the study group tackles the subject matter of politics, they quickly learn that every person has a different political view and opinion. This realization leads to some disagreements, as the members try to prove their point of view and convince others to see things their way. Jeff, who initially wants nothing to do with the class, soon finds himself embroiled in the debates, enjoying the intellectual stimulation and competition.

Meanwhile, Annie takes the class very seriously and strives to gain the respect of the professor, Professor Sheffield (played by Stephen Tobolowsky). She tries to impress him by answering every question and volunteering for every task, but she soon learns that her hard work might not be enough. Troy, on the other hand, is more interested in impressing another classmate, Lukka (played by Kali Hawk), whom he has a crush on. However, his attempts to impress her constantly end up in hilarious and awkward situations.

The other members of the group also have their own political perspective. Abed, for example, sees everything through the lens of pop culture and tries to relate everything he learns to his favorite movies and TV shows. Shirley, who is religious, sees politics through a moral lens and tries to steer the discussion towards what is right and wrong. Pierce, being older, has a more conservative perspective and clashes with the more liberal members of the group. Britta, who is passionate about social justice, tries to ensure that the political discussions do not become too overwhelming or divisive.

Throughout the episode, the group faces various challenges, including a political debate, election campaigning, and a surprise quiz. They also deal with some unexpected events, such as a presidential visit and a visit from a foreign diplomat. In the end, the study group must work together to overcome these obstacles and understand the moral and intellectual principles behind politics.

Overall, "Intro to Political Science" is a smart and witty episode that showcases the incredible talents of the cast. It is a great example of how Community tackles more significant issues while still maintaining its humor and charm. The episode highlights the diverse background and opinion of the characters while providing some thought-provoking political discussions. It is an excellent installment in the series that fans of the show will not want to miss.
