In the ninth episode of the second season of Drunk History, titled "Sports Heroes," the focus is entirely on the world of athletics. As usual, the premise of the show revolves around storytellers who have had a few too many drinks, recounting historical events with varying degrees of accuracy and hilarity. But this time around, the stories are all about some of the most famous sports stars of all time.

The episode starts with a bang as comedian Nick Kroll tells the story of Babe Ruth, the legendary baseball player. Kroll's drunken ramblings are accompanied by reenactments featuring comedians such as Will Ferrell, who plays Ruth himself. It's a funny and entertaining segment that doesn't take itself too seriously, even when tackling the Babe's more tragic moments.

Next up is a tale of another baseball legend, Jackie Robinson, as told by comedian Jen Kirkman. She brings her trademark wit to the story of Robinson's history-making debut as the first Black man to play in the Major Leagues. Again, the reenactments are hilarious, with Terry Crews doing an excellent job as Robinson himself.

The third story of the episode is a change of pace, focusing on football rather than baseball. Comedian and writer Ariel Schrag tells the story of Jim Abbott, a pitcher who famously played for the New York Yankees even though he was born without a right hand. The tone of this segment is more lighthearted than the previous ones, but it still manages to be moving and inspiring.

The final story of the episode is about the basketball superstar Michael Jordan, told by comedian Duncan Trussell. It's easily the most surreal and absurd segment of the episode, featuring reenactments with all kinds of bizarre twists. For example, Michael Jordan is portrayed as a kind of alien who travels through space in his basketball shoes. It's an unusual take on a familiar story, but it's also a lot of fun.

Throughout the episode, host Derek Waters and other comedians make frequent appearances, adding their own comedic commentary to the stories. There are also some great guest appearances from actors such as Stephen Merchant, who plays the owner of the Boston Red Sox in the Babe Ruth story.

Overall, "Sports Heroes" is a fun and entertaining episode of Drunk History that should appeal to sports fans and non-sports fans alike. The stories are engaging and well-told, and the comedic twist provided by the drunken storytellers adds an extra layer of entertainment. If you're looking for a good laugh and a dose of sports history, this episode is definitely worth checking out.
