The Jeff Dunham show is a sketch comedy and variety show that was hosted by Jeff Dunham and incorporated all of the characters that he uses in his very popular stage act. The show ran for one season with a total of 7 episodes being produced. The series uses pieces of Jeff Dunham's comedy acts with his various puppets. Most of the sketches and filmed vignettes were introduced by the specific comedy bit that precedes it. Dunham's reoccurring characters have developed a strong following across the country. Perhaps his most popular character is Walter, a curmudgeonly old timer who doesn't play well with others. Walter is perpetually frowning with his arms crossed. Another popular attraction is the hyperactive purple monster, Peanut. Peanut is the polar opposite of Walter. He is always moving and shouting. Bubby J is a stereotypical redneck type of character who appears in each episode. One of Dunham's most controversial characters is Achmed the Dead Terrorist. This puppet is just a skeleton with a turban. The acts tell the story of how Achmed was blown up in a botched suicide bombing attempt. Jose Jalapeno is simple puppet in Dunham's show; it is very simply just a hot pepper on a stick. There are a few special guest stars that appear in The Jeff Dunham Show. Brooke Hogan shows up in the season's first episode. She had a very comedic interaction with Peanut. The rock band, Good Charlotte, appears in episode two and they are interviewed reluctantly by Walter. Some of the other misadventures that the characters have on the show included, Bubba J visiting a gun range and later being admitted to rehab. Walter appears on the show each week with a humorous monologue where he apologizes to his wife in advance for expected misdoings. Achmed appeared in several episodes as well. One funny exchange found him looking to become an American citizen. Achmed had another sketch where he was trying to star in his own standup comedy show. Peanut usually has a strong presence in each episode. One memorable appearance had Peanut filming an infomercial for his self made energy drink. The Jeff Dunham Show defiantly had a different type of feel than your average talk show or sketch comedy show.
