Fall 2011 TV Preview: Comedy Central Premiere Schedule and Trailers

If the comedy offerings on NBC ("Up All Night," "The Office") or Fox ("Glee," "New Girl") aren't enough for you, you can always turn to good ol' Comedy Central. The network brings back favorites like "South Park" this fall, and continues its quest to curate a hit sketch show.

New Shows:

"Gabriel Iglesias Presents Stand-Up Revolution" - Thursday, October 6th at 10pm ET/PT

There's only one new series on Comedy Central's slate this fall, and it belongs to stand-up comedian Gabriel Iglesias. Iglesias (aka "Fluffy") brings his comedian friends to the stage for this stand-up variety show featuring routines from the comics and musical performances from house band Ozomatli. Think of it as "John Oliver's New York Stand-up Show," only set in Phoenix and with a little more Southwest flavor. Okay, a lot more.

Returning Shows:

"Tosh.0" - Tuesday, September 20th at 10pm ET/PT

Daniel Tosh returns for another season of openly mocking those who make idiots of themselves on the internet. Like G4's "Web Soup," this show features a comedian on a green screen set introducing clips and making quips. Come for the jokes, stay for the videos that make you wince in pain just by watching.

"Workaholics" - Tuesday, September 20th at 10:30pm ET/PT

This strange half-hour comedy is a lot to take in at first, but you just might find the antics of Adam, Blake and Anders pretty entertaining once you get into it. It's a workplace comedy, sure, and there are plenty of those, yes, but not many as irreverent as this one. If you're already a fan, then you'll be happy to see that "Workaholics" will indeed be back, and fairly soon.

"South Park" - Wednesday, October 5th at 10pm ET/PT

The boys are back as the latest season of "South Park" continues into the fall. There was a bit of worry during the last run of episodes that the series would be ending, as the contracts for writer/creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone were up, and the rather depressing episode "You're Getting Old" left things on a down note. But Parker and Stone say they're in it for a while longer yet, so you can keep enjoying one of the smartest, though simultaneously most poop-filled, shows on television.

"Nick Swardson's Pretend Time" - Wednesday, October 5th at 10:30pm ET/PT

The Wednesday buddy for "South Park" is once again "Nick Swardson's Pretend Time," which is back for another season. Things have gone fairly well for Swardson since season one premiered, as the comedian starred in both "30 Minutes or Less" and "Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star." They weren't too well-reviewed, but what is these days? Swardson's sketch show has its moments of truly funny stuff, and just enough weirdness to appease the "Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!" crowd.

Specials and One-Time Events:

You can also count on plenty of stand-up specials and events from Comedy Central this fall. There is, of course, "The Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen," which will show on Monday, September 19th at 10pm. You'll also be able to catch new comedy specials from Jeff Dunham, Craig Ferguson, Pablo Francisco, T. J. Miller, Donald Glover, and Carlos Mencia. There will also be a special taking you inside the Weird Al Yankovic "Alpocalypse" tour, and as if all of that wasn't enough, you will now be able to catch reruns of "30 Rock" on Comedy Central as well.
