This film is a biography of one of the famous American gangsters in history, Charles "Pretty Boy" Floyd and his transformation from Oklahoma farm boy to fugitive. He's convicted of murder for killing his father's murderer, but escapes from prison and joins up with bank robber Ned Short and his crew. He returns to his home in Oklahoma to be with his wife who spurns him because he's now a bank robber. He leaves her and goes on a crime spree with another robber. The cops are waiting for him at every turn.
