A Little Pond is a South Korean drama film that was released in 2009. Directed by Lee Sang-woo, the movie is set in the small village of Nogunri during the Korean War. The story is based on a true event that happened in 1950, when US soldiers mistakenly bombed a group of Korean refugees who were taking shelter under a bridge near Nogunri. The incident, which lasted three days, resulted in the death of hundreds of civilians, including women and children. The tragedy was not acknowledged by the US government until several decades later.

The movie portrays the human experiences of the people who were affected by the Nogunri massacre. The main character, Kim Jin-seok (Moon Sung-keun), is a farmer who lives in the village with his wife and children. When the war breaks out, he is forced to flee his home with his family and take refuge with other villagers under a nearby bridge.

As the bombing intensifies, Jin-seok and the other refugees are forced to make difficult decisions to survive. They are caught between the US army, who see them as potential enemies, and the North Korean army, who are fighting against the US. The situation takes a horrific turn when the US soldiers arrive at the bridge and start firing on the refugees.

Jin-seok's character is portrayed as a family man who is willing to do anything to protect his loved ones, even if it means risking his own life. He is faced with tough choices and is forced to witness the brutality and cruelty of war. The performance by Moon Sung-keun is outstanding, as he portrays the emotional and physical struggles of a man trying to keep his family alive in extreme circumstances.

Roe-ha Kim plays the role of Jeong Min-su, a former soldier who has been captured by the North Korean army and is being forced to fight against his own country. He manages to escape and makes his way to the bridge, where he seeks refuge with Jin-seok and the other villagers. Min-su's character serves as a bridge between the two sides of the conflict, and his experiences highlight the tragedy of war.

Hye-jin Jeon plays the role of Jin-seok's wife, who is pregnant and struggling to cope with the horrors of war. Her performance is raw and emotional, portraying the anguish and pain of a woman who is trying to protect her family in a warzone.

The movie is shot in a realistic and gritty style, with minimal music and special effects. The focus is on the characters and their experiences, rather than on action scenes or political agendas. The film also uses news footage and historical records to provide context and background to the events portrayed in the movie.

A Little Pond is a powerful and moving movie that provides an insight into the personal experiences of the people affected by the Nogunri massacre. The film is a tribute to those who lost their lives and those who survived the tragedy. While it is a difficult and emotional movie to watch, it is an important reminder of the human cost of war and the importance of acknowledging the past.
