The Eagle Has Landed is a war drama based on the Jack Higgins' novel of the same name. The main action in the movie focuses on a plot concocted by Adolf Hitler to have members of the German military forces kidnap the British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and transport him directly to Germany. Although Hitler orders the head of German Military Intelligence to research whether or not this action is feasible, he transfers the orders to one of his underlings, thinking that it is too much a waste of his valuable time.

Soon the plot to kidnap Churchill begins to take form, with an anti-Nazi officer placed in command of the special team to carry out the scheme which has the codename of "Eagle." After the Germans parachute into British territory using captured Allied markings, an officer manages to infiltrate a country house where Churchill is allegedly staying in Norfolk. But is the man they assume is Churchill and marked for murder the real prime minister or have the Allies gotten wind of their devious plot and worked to foil their kidnapping attempt?
