A Dry White Season
- 1 hr 37 min
Based at the height of apartheid in South Africa, A Dry White Season tells the story of schoolteacher Ben Du Toit. Ben feels he has no place becoming involved in the racial tensions that are sweeping the nation, which result in the Soweto Riots of 1976 and the death of a child at his school. After refusing to help Gordon, the father of the boy who died in the riots, Ben is shocked to eventually see the body of Gordon in a morgue after he has been tortured by the secret police. A social and political awakening affects both Ben and his family in ways he never imagined possible.
