First Blood is an action drama film that came out in the year 1982. It is a movie about a Vietnam veteran named Rambo who is wandering around in the Pacific Northwest. Rambo is arrested, escapes captivity and then a manhunt takes place over the course of the film. In the early 1980’s a former Special Forces soldier named John Rambo is walking around Washington State. He is looking to get back together with another member of his unit but finds out that he died of cancer from Agent Orange exposure. Rambo then wanders into a town called Hope. He is immediately confronted by the sheriff and is driven out of town. Feeling insulted Rambo walks back into town and the sheriff arrests him. Once he is being booked he experiences flashbacks of his time as a prisoner in Vietnam. He eventually snaps as the sheriff deputies are provoking him. Rambo is able to escape the sheriff station and get into the woods. A manhunt then takes place and at first the sheriff and his deputies try to hunt him down but they fail as, Rambo set a trap and ambushed each of the deputies. He badly injures all of them except for the sheriff. While the sheriff and the authorities regroup they are confronted by Colonel Samuel Trautman. Colonal Trautman was Rambo’s commander in Vietnam and knows that capturing him will be very difficult. Therefore he recommends that they leave him alone and do a fugitive search instead in order to arrest him with no incident. After this the National Guard is sent out to look for him but they fail to capture him. In the end Rambo makes his way into town, blows up a few buildings and then attempts to murder the sheriff in a final standoff. However he decides not to after Trautman tells him that he needs to surrender. Rambo talks about mistreatment and the horrors of Vietnam. He then agrees to surrender and gets arrested by the sheriff deputies. Rambo walks off with his former commanding officer.
