Andha Yudh is a 1988 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Dayal Nihalani. The movie stars Raj Babbar, Ajay Chadha, Vyjayanti Chavan and Asha Parekh in lead roles. The plot of the movie encompasses a family raising the issues of justice, corruption and lawlessness in the society. The film opens with the introduction of a wealthy businessman, Deodhar (Raj Babbar) who is about to launch his company’s latest product in the market. Despite his successful career, Deodhar’s family life is in turmoil. His younger brother Ravi (Ajay Chadha) is an idealistic youth, fighting on the side of truth and justice. He is in love with a fellow activist, Anjali (Vyjayanti Chavan).

Ravindra Kulkarni, a journalist, writes an exposé on Deodhar, revealing that he has illegally acquired land from the government. The story not only ruins Deodhar's credibility but also affects his business venture. Deodhar does not take kindly to this and frames Ravi in a false case of rape and murder. Ravi is sentenced to death while Anjali is severely injured in a police encounter.

Deodhar continues his wrongful deeds and is eventually exposed by Ravi's mother (Asha Parekh) who takes the help of a former judge. The story comes to a shocking climax when Deodhar tries to kill Ravi's mother but ends up getting killed himself.

The film is a gripping portrayal of how the people in power and with wealth can misuse the system and the vulnerable. It also highlights the role of media and the judiciary in unveiling the truth.

The lead actors do justice to their roles with Raj Babbar's character being the perfect example of "power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely" whereas Ajay Chadha plays his part of a righteous and honest youth with conviction. Vyjayanti Chavan’s character is that of a young girl who is brave, courageous and also very loyal.

The movie is notable for its realistic portrayal of the society and the legal system. It often draws attention to the loopholes and pitfalls of the system and is relevant even today. The film also features several memorable songs, including the popular number "Mere Watan Mein."

In conclusion, Andha Yudh is an intense and thought-provoking movie that was ahead of its time. The film not only entertains but also sends a strong message to society, emphasizing the importance of justice and honesty in our lives.
