Watch Animals Are Beautiful People

Animals are Beautiful People is an early 1970s documentary about the variety of wild animals living in South Africa. The Kalahari Desert, the Namib Desert and the banks of the Okavango River are among its principle filming locations. The first one third of Animals are Beautiful People focuses on the day to day life of the variety of creatures which make their home in the Namib Desert, despite its lack of water and consistently high temperatures.

In the second third of the film, the action and commentary moves to the rich Delta area of the Okavango River. During the last part of the film, the audience is introduced to the wide variety of wild creatures who are able to make their home in the arid Kalahari Desert region. Among the exotic wild animals featured in this nature documentary are elephants, baboons, warthogs, and giraffes, all seen going about their daily lives and managing to survive despite living under harsh conditions.
