Kate is driving around a mountain road until she experiences automotive trouble. Vittorio happens to pass by and repairs her vehicle with so much as a word. As he begins to drive off, he slowly reverses his course and decides he likes her. Later on, Vittorio discovers that Kate has decided to rejoin her family's circus after being absent for more than a decade. Intrigued by this mystery, Vittorio stays to catch one performance, only to become enthralled with it and the story behind the performers involved. As the caravan heads off for a new destination, so to does Vittorio.
