Watch Beauty Shop

The movie Beauty Shop is centered around Gina, a hair stylist who has dreams of someday opening her own salon. Gina, whose character is played by Queen Latifah works for Jorge. Jorge, played by actor Kevin Bacon is a self-centered, egotistical, narcissist. The owner of an upscale salon, Jorge treats his employees with disregard. Gina becomes unhappy with his treatment of her and walks out. She seeks out a bank loan but is rejected. Upon styling the hair of the lady who initially rejected her loan application, she is then approved for a small loan. She purchases a small rundown shop and fixes it up. She then meets her employees, two of whom upon finding out that one of the new hairdressers is white, quit on the spot. Once Gina is settled into the shop, a few of her old clients become regulars. Jorge gets wind of this information and starts creating trouble for her. Jorge visits her salon and congratulates her on the success of the shop. Meanwhile, he is calling the state board regarding issues in her shop. When the state board comes out she is fined amounts she can hardly pay. While working at Jorge's, Gina created this fabulous conditioner that she uses on her clients hair. One of her clients says that she has connections with Revlon and can get her conditioner in stores. This client has a falling out with a stylist in the store, and when Gina refuses to fire the stylist, she revoked her offer to introduce the product to Revlon. As if things couldn't get worse, Gina's salon is trashed and she is devastated. Her employees surprise her by fixing up the shop, just as a popular radio personality comes in to get her hair done. The radio personality advertises how great the conditioner was for her hair and breathes new life into Gina's dream.
