The movie also stars Mel Gibson as the main villain, Colonel Clive Ventor, and Naomi Watts as Pulver's former love interest, Dr. Jemma Wells.
The story is set in a near-future world, where a shadowy organization called the Ventor Corporation has developed a secret time-manipulation technology. Roy Pulver, a former Delta Force soldier, finds himself trapped in a never-ending time loop, living the same day over and over again. Each time he dies, he wakes up at the start of the day, remembering everything that happened before. He's not the only one stuck in the time loop, but he's different from the others. He's a survivor, a soldier who knows how to fight, and he's determined to figure out a way out of the loop.
As the movie progresses, we see Roy struggle to find a way to break the time loop while also trying to protect his estranged wife and son from Ventor and his army of mercenaries. Along the way, he discovers the truth about the time-loop and the Ventor Corporation's sinister plans for the technology. He teams up with Dr. Jemma Wells, an ex-girlfriend who works for Ventor, to try and stop the corporation's evil plans.
The film is a fast-paced, action-packed ride, with plenty of intense fight scenes and thrilling car chases. The time-loop concept is not entirely new to science fiction, but the movie manages to keep things fresh and engaging through various twists and turns in the plot. Frank Grillo delivers an excellent performance as Roy Pulver, portraying him as a gruff, wisecracking anti-hero who is determined to survive and outwit his enemies.
Mel Gibson is also impressive as the main villain, Colonel Clive Ventor. He's a ruthless and cunning businessman who will stop at nothing to achieve his goals, even if it means sacrificing innocent lives. Gibson's portrayal adds a layer of depth to the character, making him more than just a one-dimensional villain.
Naomi Watts, as always, delivers a great performance as Dr. Jemma Wells. She brings a sense of warmth and vulnerability to the character, making her more than just a love interest for Roy. Her character brings an emotional anchor to the movie, and the chemistry between her and Grillo is excellent, making their scenes together a joy to watch.
Overall, Boss Level is a highly entertaining movie that offers a unique take on the time-loop concept. It's a fast-paced action-thriller with great performances from Grillo, Gibson, and Watts.
