Vietnam vet Norman Hopper dreams about an incident during the war where he is bitten by a fellow POW. The next day he receives a call that the same POW who bit him is in a standoff with police at a nearby mall. Hopper convinces him to surrender, but not before the ex-POW bites one of the officers. That sets off a chain reaction. The bite contains an infection that causes people to crave human flesh . . . and it's spreading.
