Contract to Kill is an action-packed political thriller directed by Keoni Waxman, starring Steven Seagal, Russell Wong, and Jemma Dallender. The movie was released in 2016 and delves into the world of espionage, political turmoil and jihadist terrorism. Steven Seagal plays John Harmon, a former CIA agent, who has taken up the responsibility of training new recruits for the CIA. When a mission to apprehend a high-ranking cartel leader in Mexico goes awry, Harmon is called upon to handle a new task: infiltrating a group of jihadists who are planning to carry out attacks in the United States while they are still in Turkey.

Harmon initially refuses the mission, but when the offer is sweetened with the promise of clearing his name and the chance to eliminate Hassan, a notorious terrorist who has been a thorn in the US's side, he agrees to the task. Harmon is joined by Zara Hayek, played by Jemma Dallender, a stunningly beautiful Turkish agent who knows the ins and outs of the radical jihadist group. Meanwhile, Russell Wong plays Matthew Sharp, the FBI agent who is the on-the-ground liaison working in Turkey.

The movie takes place in Istanbul, where Harmon and his team must navigate their way through a dangerous political landscape of political coups, internal conflicts, and terrorist cells in order to take down the jihadist group. It is a race against time as the team struggles to find clues to the terrorist's plans and must thwart them before it's too late.

Along the way, the team discovers that Hassan is not just a mere terrorist but is trying to take over the power in Turkey by championing for democracy. Harmon and Hayek are on a mission to stop the rogue terrorist and take him down before he sets the world on fire.

The action sequences are intense, and Seagal proves once again, that he is the master of the action genre with his martial arts skills on full display. Seagal's character, Harmon, is a classic hero who has no limits or boundaries when it comes to fighting terrorism. His commitment and courage are evident throughout the film, and his actions speak louder than words.

Jemma Dallender provides a fresh face among the otherwise male cast and embodies a complex, intelligent character who is smart, resourceful and capable. She brings her own perspective to the team and proves to be essential in the fights against the terrorists.

Russell Wong, too, delivers an excellent performance as the FBI agent, who is trying to establish a working relationship with the Turkish authorities without fully understanding the complexities of the situation. He is the much-needed voice of reason in the team, trying to keep it together as tensions mount with the Turkish government.

The movie's political message is intriguing, as Contract to Kill shows how nations can end up supporting and funding terrorists inadvertently. It highlights the thin line between democracy and dictatorship and how political coups can lead to anarchy in countries. Thus, it not only entertains but also leaves its viewers pondering on the impact of internal conflicts on the world's overall security.

Overall, Contract to Kill is a well-executed thriller which immerses the viewers in the world of espionage and terrorism. There are enough engaging action scenes to please fans of the genre, and the plot is multi-faceted enough to keep audiences fully engaged. With strong performances by the actors, the movie is an excellent addition to action movie enthusiasts' repertoire.

Contract To Kill is a 2016 adventure movie. It has received poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 3.2 and a MetaScore of 3.
