Maximum Conviction is a movie that was released in 2012 and it stands out since it successfully managed to combine elements of action, adventure and suspense into the storyline. The plot of the film focuses on the character Tom Steele, who used to be a black ops operative, but is now supposed to work with his old partner Manning on a new project. This new project appears straightforward enough, as it is to just decommission an old prison and while doing so also wait for the arrival of two new prisoners. These female prisoners eventually arrive and shortly thereafter Steele and Manning realize that the new job is not what they were expecting. Soon after arriving at the old prison and seeing to the arrival of the prisoners, the protagonists quickly figure out that something bigger is going on. Not only is the prison supposed to be decommissioned while prisoners are still being held there, but it does not take long for the story to escalate due to the arrival of a group of highly trained and specialized mercenaries who attack the prison. This is no random attack, as the mercenaries are searching for the two mysterious female prisoners, who seem to be keeping secrets that are of great importance. Steele and Manning know that this situation has to be controlled soon or there will be no way to stop it. Eventually the real identities of the female prisoners are revealed and up until then, it is hard for Steele and Manning to decide whether they are on the side of the mercenaries or being sought by them. Once it is known that the prisoners are, it becomes obvious that high level corruption and betrayal plays a role in what is going on. In order to complete their assignment, Steele and Manning have to do a lot of fighting. Since Manning is a weapons expert, there is a lot of creativity involved with his method of fighting all adversaries in the movie. Other prisoners, as well as the two women, have to be guarded at all times so that they can safely be transferred. This forces the two in charge of the operation to separate and fight on their own most of the time.
