Hunt to Kill is an action thriller based in the deep mountains of Montana (although it was shot in Canada). The film stars Jim Rhodes (Steve Austin), a border patrol agent and single father who is still grieving the loss of his partner, Lee, who died four years ago. Jim and his teenage daughter, Kim, are now trying to make life as manageable as possible in their mountain home, even though they have clashing personalities. Meanwhile, in Nevada, a group of thieves by the names of Lawson, Banks, Jenson, Geary, Crab, and Dominika have just robbed a hotel and stolen millions of dollars in bearer bonds. The group’s leader, Lawson, gets greedy and sets a bomb to kill off his followers, then takes the bearer bonds and leaves his friends for dead. His supposed right-hand man, Banks, is able to defuse the bomb, but Lawson is far away by this point. Banks and the fellow criminals then make it a goal to find Lawson using a tracking device and get vengeance on him for his betrayal. Back in Montana the next day, Jim is called to Sheriff Westlake’s office to retrieve his daughter, who has been caught shoplifting. The plot ties in at this point, when Jim discovers the group of thieves from Nevada in there attacking Westlake. Banks is convinced that Lawson has taken off to Montana, which is why he was there in the first place. He and his followers then kill the Sheriff and take Jim and his daughter hostage, forcing them to help with their journey to locate Lawson. The rest of the movie takes place in the mountains of Montana. The trip begins peacefully at first, but soon the criminals all turn on each other, and many bloody action-packed fights ensue, involving basic weapons such as spears and bows-and-arrows. Jim and Kim are able to fight off the remaining criminals who haven’t been killed already by one of their own. They then start the arduous task of trekking home.
