Before his city adventure, he was entertaining the young jungle animals by creating harmless mischief. The older animals are very upset at George's behavior fearing that their children might get hurt in some way. The decision was made to leave George to fend for himself in a deeper region of the jungle. Ted who is dressed in a yellow safari outfit, with hat included is on a quest to find a legendary African shrine and save the Bloomsbury Museum from closing. Unfortunately unknown to Ted, he is following a map that was manipulated by Bloomsbury Junior, the son of the museum's owner. While journeying through the jungle he encounters George much to Ted's delight. Fate soon deals a hand when Ted leaves his hat behind and the monkey follows him to an African port and to a ship bound for America. When the ship arrives in New York, George is awestruck at the cityscape that reminds him of the jungle back in Africa. Empty handed Ted asks for help from the museum's inventor Clovis on recreating a holographic image of the Shrine of Zagawa. However, Bloomsbury Jr. sabotages the projector and blames George for his work. Both Ted and George are evicted from the museum with no place to go. The plot moves quickly when Ted discovers the meaning of the ancient writing found on the small statue that resembled the sacred shrine hidden back in Africa. Knowing that time was running out, both friends must decipher the clues of the map that was fixed from the previous manipulation. Success is in reach for our heroes when they discover the resting place of the Shrine of Zagawa. Word reaches New York on the uncovering of the shrine, prompting Mr. Bloomsbury to have the find shipped back to New York.
